A former Sunglass Hut owner sold his Brickell mansion — after it spent more than 1,200 days on the market — to Terra Group’s David Martin and his wife Christina.

Dean and Jania Ziff sold the 2-acre estate at 2999 Brickell Avenue for $14 million on March 20, according to Miami-Dade County records.

The 14,433-square-foot waterfront mansion includes eight bedrooms, seven-and-a-half bathrooms, a Jacuzzi, pool, a tennis court and a Moroccan-inspired terrace. It was built between 1990 and 1992 and faces Biscayne Bay, according to county property records. The house last sold in 1995 for an undisclosed amount.

Its asking price fluctuated since it was first listed in 2011, hitting $25 million later that year. More recently, Coldwell Banker’s Jill Hertzberg of The Jills represented the Ziffs. It was on the market until January for $13.9 million.

Dean Ziff’s father, Sanford Ziff, founded Sunglass Hut. Dean was co-owner of the company until the family sold its stake in 1991.

Terra’s David Martin and his father Pedro Martin are working on developments in Coconut Grove — Grove at Grand Bay and Park Grove — and in Doral, among others.
