The Related Group donated a park to the city of Miami, adjacent to the 42-story, 301-unit Icon Bay development.

Icon Bay Park, at 455 Northeast 28th Street, will be designed by ArquitectonicaGEO, and will include water fountains, and exotic and native plants, according to Icon Bay’s website. City of Miami commissioners accepted the deed on April 23, a publication reported.

The owner, PRH NE 28th Street LLC, reportedly agreed to cover all costs associated with the property transfer, including the survey, environmental report, title insurance and closing costs, according to Miami Today. PRH, which stands for Perez Ross Holdings, will maintain the park, which will eventually be connected to a planned public walkway called the Biscayne Line.

“This is the first new park in Edgewater in a long time,” Commissioner Marc Sarnoff said to Miami Today.

Also approved: a second plot from PMH, Garden Park On The Bay, which is between 27th Street Alley and 29th Street.

Related is also building Paraiso Bay, a four-tower complex in Edgewater. Other projects under construction or planned in Edgewater include Melo Group’s Bay House and Eastview Development’s Biscayne Beach. [Miami Today] — Katherine Kallergis
