TRD insider interview: David Martin talks development in Broward

David Martin, president and founder of Terra Group, sat down with The Real Deal’s Managing Editor Ina Cordle to talk about his company’s upcoming projects in Broward County.

Terra is currently working on a 120-acre development in Weston, Martin said, where the group will build estate homes priced from $1.8 million to $3 million.

He said the average home in the city was built in the late 1990s, so Terra felt it was a good opportunity to bring something fresh to the area.

For Martin, Broward has two standout qualities that make it an attractive destination: a good educational system and great infrastructure.

His group is also building another housing development in Southwest Ranches, plus a shopping center in Pembroke Pines.

“We’re really excited about what Broward has to offer,” he said.

The interview was part of TRD’s Broward Real Estate Forum & Showcase, which was held at the Design Center of the Americas in Dania on April 23. Panelists, composed of industry heavyweights, met to discuss two topics: the evolution of Broward County and the future of foreign investment in South Florida.
