La Moderna, an Italian bar and restaurant, is joining a number of businesses at Sunset Harbour Shops in Miami Beach.
The restaurant’s interiors were designed by architect Roberto Liorni, and include an Italian-crafted copper bar and a Stefano Ferrara handmade brick oven. Among its menu items: spaghetti with Osetra caviar, fresh oysters and crispy leek, and squid-ink ravioli stuffed with cod and served with saffron sauce.
The 2,800-square-foot restaurant, at 1874 Bay Road, is near the condominium project Sunset Harbour Yacht Club, a Büro Group co-working space, popular restaurants Pubbelly and Burger & Beer Joint, Publix, Fresh Market, and a variety of fitness boutiques and other businesses.
Sunset Harbour Shops’ other tenants include Icebox Cafe, Panther Coffee, ThreadCount and Barry’s Bootcamp. The largest of seven properties owned by Robins Companies, Sunset Harbour Shops was developed in a public-private partnership with the city of Miami Beach, which owns the adjoining parking garage.
La Moderna owner Luca D’Angelo also owns and operates Fratelli La Bufala, at 437 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. — Katherine Kallergis
