The last of 11 construction cranes for Brickell City Centre was removed last weekend, The Real Deal has learned.

Most of the cranes, which ranged from 100 feet to 500 feet, made up to 120 lifts a day, working nonstop. The cranes began arriving at the Brickell City Centre site in June 2013.

  • Special structural steel tiebacks to the concrete structures to resist hurricane winds that were installed as needed when cranes were raised to higher elevations.
  • A French anti-collision system/computing monitoring system to prevent its jibs or cables of the various cranes from clashing with each other, and stopping individual cranes when turning into other cranes’ working zones.
  • The strongest of the 11 cranes was TC4, which could lift up to 24,000 pounds.
  • The largest and heaviest tandem lift was 41,000 pounds of structural steel for the Climate Ribbon.

When completed, Brickell City Centre will include a 500,000-square-foot shopping component, two condominium towers, two Class A office buildings, and its EAST, Miami Hotel. The condominium, office, and hotel component at Brickell City Centre are set for completion at the end of this year.

The shopping center will be anchored by a three-floor Saks Fifth Avenue, with street-level access. Eateries such as Pubbelly Sushi, Pasión del Cielo, Quinto La Huella and Sugar, so far have been announced. Valentino, Chopard and a number of retailers will also join the center. – Katherine Kallergis and Sean Stewart-Muniz
