Another new hotel is in the works for South Beach, The Real Deal has learned.

Developers the Finvarb Group plans to build the hotel at the longtime site of a Boston Market, at 1750 Alton Road, on the Collins Canal. The property is next to the Marriott Residence Inn South Beach, designed by architect Kobi Karp, that the group is also developing and which is currently under construction.

The newly proposed  as yet unamed hotel — will have 96 rooms and a restaurant, Ronny Finvarb, principal of Finvarb Group, told TRD.

“This upscale waterfront hotel project is located in one of the most walkable areas in all of Miami Beach, since it is equidistant from the most upscale section of Lincoln Road and the hottest neighborhood in South Beach, Sunset Harbour,” Finvarb said in an email to TRD.

“The hotel will have a rooftop pool in a tranquil setting and panoramic views of South Beach, including the Miami Beach Golf Club,” Finvarb added.

Miami-Dade property records show Sobe Alton LLC bought the site for $4.5 million in March 2014. Ronald Finvarb and Richard Finvarb are Sobe Alton LLC’s principals.

Construction is expected to begin next year, with the hotel opening in 2017, Finvarb told TRD. The name and brand will be announced at a future date, he said.

The Finvarb Group, whose principals are Ronald and Richard Finvarb, was founded nearly 40 years ago. The company has developed real estate projects including hotels, high-rise condominiums, multifamily apartment buildings, single-family developments, office buildings and retail, according to the group’s website.

Recent hotel projects, in addition to the Marriott Residence Inn South Beach, include the Marriott Courtyard Palm Beach Jupiter, the Marriott Residence Inn Downtown Tempe and the Marriott Courtyard San Antonio Riverwalk. The firm also owns the Marriott Courtyard South Beach on Washington Avenue, Ronny Finvarb said.

Additionally, family member Robert Finvarb, president of the Robert Finvarb Companies, recently developed the Hyatt Centric South Beach and AC Hotel by Marriott – Miami Beach.
