The home of the late vice chairman of Lazard Freres & Co. is for a sale for a whopping $67.5 million, according to Realtor.com. 

The estate of Damon Mezzacappa, the former vice chairman of Lazard Freres & Co. who built the investment bank’s capital-markets division in the 1980s and ’90s, owns the 22,164-square-foot mansion. It was listed on Friday, the Palm Beach Daily News first reported, and is the most expensive existing residential property on the market in Palm Beach.

Villa Venezia, at 1485 South Ocean Boulevard, was designed by Jeffrey W. Smith. The waterfront estate features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms and two-half baths. It was built in 2000 and sits on 2.3 acres, according to Palm Beach property records.

The Mediterranean-style, two-story mansion features a fireplace, temperature controlled wine room, 300 feet of frontage along the Intracoastal, a library and a gym. Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate is the listing agent.

Mezzacappa, who acquired the property in 1997 for an undisclosed amount, died in April, Bloomberg reported.

Other pricey listings in Palm Beach County include the Ziff family’s 15.6-acre compound on a barrier island in Manalapan. It’s been on the market for $200 million since April.
