New shared office space firm opens in South Miami

TamboWorks has joined the co-working space scene in South Florida, The Real Deal has learned.

The shared office space company opened its doors Sept. 1, co-founder Maria Alejandra Marquez told TRD. The 3,000-square-foot location is across the street from the Shops at Sunset Place, which sold last week for $110.2 million.

TamboWorks offers temporary and fixed open desks, meeting space and event space, and virtual offices.

“We strongly believe that there is a need for a coworking space that is close to where people actually live,” Marquez told TRD. “All three founders, Adolfo Taylhardat, Hector Figallo and I, wanted to have an exciting space to work and grow our respective business ventures alongside others, but we were not willing to drive 45 minutes a day to get there.”

The firm is leasing space on the second story at 5790 Sunset Drive. The first floor is occupied by Starbucks. Existing members are in the telemedicine, online news, and art-designed performance apparel industries, among others.

TamboWorks is also near the South Miami Metrorail station. It joins other co-working firms in Miami-Dade such as Büro, MADE at the Citadel, Quest Workspaces, Pipeline and WeWork, which is adding an entire building in downtown Miami to its South Florida offices.
