Porsche Design Tower tops off

Gil Dezer’s 60-story Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles Beach has officially topped off.

Dezer Development and the Coastal Construction Group celebrated by hosting a luncheon for the more than 600 construction workers, engineers and contractors that are working on the project.

Porsche Design Tower broke ground in April 2013. It’s located on a beachfront site at 18555 Collins Avenue.

Its wide range of atypical amenities, including man caves and balcony plunge pools, have attracted a lot of attention during the tower’s development.

But its most talked-about feature is the “Dezervator,” a patented car elevator named after the tower’s developer. When the tower is completed in the second quarter of 2016, the elevator will hoist cars and residents up to any one of the building’s 132 condos.

Eight units remain available at the project, with prices ranging from $6.3 million to $32.5 million, according to a release. One of the remaining residences is an over-the-top, four-story penthouse that measures an incredible 16,915 square feet.

“This announcement is another major milestone for this project,” said Dezer, president of Dezer Development, in the release. “We realize that delivering the first-ever Porsche Design Tower while simultaneously reinventing parking technology has been very challenging for our team of contractors and engineers. What they have accomplished, as it relates to both the building and the new garage technology, is nothing short of compelling.”
