The Miami-based Comras Company has been named the exclusive sales and leasing agent for 530 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach, the company announced. The 14,000-square-foot property covers two floors on Lincoln Road between Drexel and Pennsylvanian avenues. Lincoln Road’s retail market has seen a number of national tenants enter the market, led by discount clothing retailers H&M and Forever 21. The property has received historic preservation approval for a glass enclosure over its courtyard. More and more tenants in Miami Beach have been looking for two-story retail buildings as part of a trend brokers call “verticality.” — Alexander Britell

Retail along Miami’s Lincoln road has flourished after several recent investments. Now, the road will see an additional $21 million retail investment from Aurora Capital Associates. The New York Observer reported that Massey Knakal Capital Services has arranged for Wells Fargo to lend $21 million to the New York-based firm in order to expand its retail presence along Miami’s popular shopping strip. The Gap has signed a long-term, 20,000-square-foot lease at 1001 Lincoln Road and is planning to construct a new ground-up, two-story, 29,000-square-foot, structure on the site, according to the Comras Company, which brokered the deal on behalf of the site’s landlord. [more]

Two high-profile South Beach development projects, an expansion of Lincoln Road and a renovation of the Miami Beach Convention Center, will soon go before Miami Beach’s commissioners for initial votes, the Miami Herald reported. The Lincoln Road project would create retail centers on parking lots near the pedestrian mall in South Beach. Meanwhile, the plan to overhaul the Miami Beach Convention Center, includes bids by two teams: one, between developer Robert Wennett and Tishman Hotel and Realty, and a second, which is being promoted by Atlanta’s Portman Holdings and Miami’s Ugo Colombo. Clothing retailer H&M will open a pop-up Miami Beach location on Friday, the Miami Herald reported. The store will be located at 1669 Meridian Avenue. In September, the company will open its long-anticipated flagship location on Lincoln Road. “With the exciting grand opening of our flagship store just around the corner, we are thrilled to offer Miami consumers a sneak peak of what’s to come just in time for the summer,” Daniel Kulle, U.S. president for H&M said in a statement. “The opening of the H&M Miami pop-up shop signifies the beginning of a strong relationship between H&M and Miami shoppers.” [Miami Herald]

Retailer Sunglass Hut is set to open its biggest store in the country on Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road, the Miami Herald reported. The new space, which will be located at 845 Lincoln Road, is set to open this summer. The company also announced it would be closing one of its two other Lincoln Road locations, at 1021 Lincoln Road.
