Gil Dezer

Gil Dezer

Dezer is president of his family’s firm, Dezer Development, a Sunny Isles Beach-based company that builds luxury skyscrapers on the sand. His most famous project, the Porsche Design Tower, ties both of his passions together: fast cars and high-end real estate.

The oceanfront property was the first to feature his patented Dezervator, a car elevator that takes residents up to their units, where they can park their cars in a glass-enclosed garage inside their condos.

In 2018, federal authorities tied the purchase of some units at Porsche Design to money laundering schemes. Dezer has maintained that his firm operated within the law.

Dezer got into the business thanks to his father, developer Michael Dezer, who formed the family’s partnership with Donald Trump — they built the Trump-branded towers in South Florida. Michael began to acquire beachfront real estate in the mid-1980s. Under Gil’s leadership, Dezer Development is also building the Bentley Residences condo tower and has completed other projects that include the Residences by Armani Casa and Hyde Midtown, both with the Related Group. In his free time, Dezer is enjoying the fruits of his labor, either on his boat or driving one of his prized possessions along Collins Avenue and participating in road rallies. In 2009, he won the Gumball Rally in a Porsche 911. His passion for motor vehicles also came from his father, who owns more than 1,000 collectible cars.
