Battle lines have been drawn over the south Brooklyn waterfront, a working harbor where industry has used lawsuits and political maneuvering to stave off an invasion of upscale residential development. But with the rezoning of the north Brooklyn waterfront, allowing development of housing, shops and parks where only manufacturing had been allowed for decades, and the recent sale of a small row house in Red Hook for more than $1 million, could widespread change be far behind in south Brooklyn? more [Sun]
