Ground Zero building to be demolished

The Deutsche Bank tower next to Ground Zero, shrouded since the days after 9/11 in a protective netting, will be demolished starting this summer. Bidders will examine the 42-story building on Liberty Street this Wednesday on a contract to erect scaffolding prior to demolition. The Lower Manhattan Development Coroporation, which now owns the building, plans to award the contract in July and then choose another firm for demolition.
