Hopes for a West Side stadium still survive despite the vote last week by a state board that effectively dashed expectations for major public funding. Any stadium, however, would not help the city land the 2012 summer Olympics, according to real estate insiders and representatives of the New York Jets, the NFL franchise that would also play there. The Jets have apparently had several offers from developers still looking to build a stadium on the West Side since last week’s vote.more [Sun]
