Developers honing in on Willets Point

Developers are jumping at the chance to be part of the redevelopment of Willets Point, the junkyard-dominated eyesore in Flushing that could benefit the most from the proposed New York Mets stadium there. The area along the Flushing Bay waterfront in Queens could also be a host of the 2012 summer Olympics, should New York land the Games in July. At least 13 developers have submitted to the city proposals for Willets Point, including Forest City Ratner and the Queens Chamber of Commerce. more [Crain’s]
