Metropolitan Avenue dusts itself off

Metropolitan Avenue in Forest Hills has over the past five years become a lot more livelier, even – believe it or not – “a bit chic,” as the New York Times puts it in a profile of the once-leisurely Queens drag. Low rents and generally more affluent residents have spawned as many as a dozen antique shops along Metropolitan as well as an assortment of restaurants, including Peruvian and Thai.
