Cushman & Wakefield announced Wednesday morning that it had acquired its longtime Canadian affiliate Royal LePage Commercial Inc., one of the largest commercial real estate services firms in Canada. Once the acquisition is completed in October, it will be known as Cushman & Wakefield LePage. Owned by Brascan Corporation (originally Brookfield Asset Management) since 1984, Royal LePage has more than 500 employees in at least five Canadian cities. The acquisition by Cushman & Wakefield does not include Royal LePage’s residential real estate network. Colum Bastable, president and CEO of Royal LePage Commercial, is expected to retain both posts in Cushman & Wakefield LePage.
