Javits gets bigger – but not big enough?

The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center is expanding, but not as much as some want because of a lack of more public funding and not enough to place New York City’s largest convention space among the nation’s biggest. The $1.4 billion expansion will increase the center from 790,000 square feet to about 1.1 million. But that still puts the Javits Center well behind Chicago’s 2.9-million-square-foot McCormick Place. more [Sun]
