Office ambitions for downtown Brooklyn stymied

Downtown Brooklyn remains a residential development hot spot, despite efforts by the city to move it toward a more commercial future. The city, in fact, 17 months ago rezoned much of the area to expand its commercial zoning scope. Still, a half-dozen condo projects are skirting the edges of downtown Brooklyn, and plans for new commercial space are being scaled back. more [NYO]
