New York City has a smaller share of middle-income families than any other major metro area in the nation, according a recent analysis of Census figures. And only L.A. has a smaller proportion of middle-income neighborhoods. Only 28.3 percent of the New York metro area’s neighborhoods were identified in the analysis as middle-income. more [NYT]
