An out-of-the-way section of Brooklyn’s Gravesend neighborhood has been the site of several million-dollar teardown deals, wherein homes are bought only to be demolished and replaced with bigger homes. The most high-profile Gravesend teardown happened at 450 Avenue S, where a 3,600-square-foot house on a double lot was bought for $11 million. It could be the highest price ever, in fact, for a Brooklyn house. more [NYT]
