Strike could spawn work stoppages in city

Several construction projects around the city could face work stoppages if talks with two major unions fall through. Negotiations are ongoing between employers and Locals 14 and 15 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, and the city is keeping an eye on the talks. The union contract expires at midnight on Friday, and work could then stop at several major projects, including the new PATH station at Ground Zero and the overhaul of the South Ferry subway station. more [Crain’s]
