The hipster scene isn’t the only thing falling apart on the Lower East Side. Apparently, construction in the rapidly gentrifying neighborhood is causing actual buildings there to crumble. Large cracks have begun to appear on the façde of 189 Orchard Street, which stands next to the construction site for a new 19-story hotel. more [Metro]
