Under an agreement reached with Attorney General Eliot Spitzer, Countrywide Financial Corporation, a large mortgage lender, will “adopt measures to prevent discriminatory pricing for minority borrowers.” Countrywide will pay out $3 million to a group of minority buyers that it improperly steered toward higher-cost loans and will begin a $3 million consumer education program. more [NYT]
