Workers from a firm hired to dismantle the contaminated Deutsche Bank building on Liberty Street returned to work yesterday after a week off the job. On December 11, workers from subcontractor John Galt Company left the work site when the firm decided it wanted more money to dismantle the glass-and-steel tower that sustained heavy damage on September 11, 2001. Contract talks between John Galt Company, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and Bovis Lend Lease — the building’s main contractor — are ongoing. more [NYT]
