Ice concerns hinder Bloomingdale’s access

It’s been a year now since Vornado Realty Trust constructed an entrance to the Lexington Avenue subway line on the south side of 59th Street that allowed riders to emerge directly in front of Bloomingdale’s department store. The entrance has been closed because planners feel ice could fall from the 54-story building that houses Bloomingdale’s, injuring riders. Vornado and the MTA are locked in a dispute over who should be responsible for the ice mitigation. more [Sun]
