FDR roadway could become a park

City officials are considering a plan to transform a portion of the FDR Drive from 54th to 63rd streets into a waterfront park. The section of the FDR in question is a temporary detour route that was set to be demolished. If built, the park would connect to other sections of the East Side esplanade. more [NYT]
