More suburban hotel chains in NYC

Amenity-light hotels such as Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express have been expanding in urban centers like New York, where they stand in stark contrast to luxury, full-service hotels. One hotel developer, the Philadelphia-based Hersha Group, has opened four limited-service hotels in Manhattan in the past few years – including Chelsea’s Hampton Inn – and plans to open nine more in the city over the next three years. more [WSJ]
