Former Mets superstar Mo Vaughn says an offer his development company Omni New York LLC made for Brooklyn’s Starrett City was rebuffed by the complex’s broker, CB Richard Ellis. Vaughn says CB Richard Ellis declined to even give Omni a bid packet. Bids were due yesterday for the 5,881-unit affordable housing complex, a pending sale that has received intense scrutiny from tenants and politicians who want to preserve the property’s affordable housing stock.
