The state is expected to close this spring on a $230 million purchase of the James A. Farley Post Office, Empire State Development Corporation chief Patrick Foye said last week. The move would be a big step forward for the long-awaited plan to turn the site into an extension of Penn Station. Plans call for most of the purchase price to be covered by the Port Authority. more [NYDN]
