Domino factory landmarking debated

Preservationist groups are arguing that most of Williamsburg’s Domino Sugar Refinery complex should be landmarked. But the property’s developers–a partnership between the nonprofit Community Preservation Corporation and Isaac Katan–are arguing that only the main refinery building is worthy of landmarking. The developers are likely to seek a rezoning of the site that would allow for the creation of around 2,000 units of housing and probably include the construction of high-rise towers. more [Gowanus Lounge]
