The most expensive single-family home in the nation is on sale in Aspen, Colo., for $135 million. The estate’s brokerage, an affiliate of Christie’s auction house, is extremely selective about prospective buyers. Although around 1,000 people have requested tours of the house since it went on the market last October, the brokerage has only shown it to 11 prospective buyers. The 56,000-square-foot house, called Hala, was built in 1991 for Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the former ambassador to the United States for Saudi Arabia. more [NYT]
