Another condo planned for Brooklyn’s Fourth Avenue

Brooklyn’s rapidly transforming Fourth Avenue is likely to soon see a large new condo. Developer Sam Pearl is in contract to buy a stretch of five row houses at 150-158 Fourth Avenue between Douglass and Butler streets. The four-story buildings have been vacated and boarded up over the past several years in an apparent prelude to their redevelopment. And that redevelopment now appears to be under way. The Department of Buildings issued permits late last month for the interior demolition of all five houses, and Pearl says he plans to construct a residential building in their place. “There’s a lot of money to be made” on Fourth Avenue, says Pearl, who intends to develop a 12-story building on the site. more By Gabby Warshawer
