A judge issued a temporary restraining order on billboards set to rise on a Midtown West building that houses the Times Square Church. The church’s pastor had complained about toilet-seat company Washlet’s planned advertisements, which feature images of bare buttocks with smiley faces, saying they interfere with the organization’s religious mission. A court will now decide whether the billboards should be allowed to rise. “The court finds that the motion presents novel and significant issues on which further legal authority is required,” the judge said. more [AP via AMNY]
