Thor Equities is said to be in negotiations to purchase a sizeable chunk of Coney Island’s Wonder Wheel Park for $11 million. Thor, which plans to build a new amusement park, hotels and time-shares in Coney Island as part of a $1.5 billion development, already owns the land where Astroland sits, as well as many adjacent properties. Like the Cyclone, the Wonder Wheel is a landmark, and it cannot be torn down. more [Gowanus Lounge]
