Although critics wondered whether the Zeckendorfs’ investment in Fifteen Central Park West–which the developers paid about $690 per buildable square foot for and then spent around $1,130 per square foot on the construction of–would pay off, the building sold out early this year, with prices averaging around $3,300 per square foot. The two-tower structure, designed by Robert A.M. Stern in a fashion reminiscent of the city’s great early 20th century residential buildings, has drawn celeb buyers like Sting, Denzel Washington and Bob Costas. more [NYO]
