Council Speaker Christine Quinn has been accused of taking $17,500 in campaign donations connected to the Red Hook dock before becoming an advocate of keeping the port active. Quinn and 20 other politicians signed a letter Thursday demanding that the Port Authority halt plans to sell the pier to the city and instead lease to American Stevedoring International. Rep. Jerrold Nadler and Councilman David Yassky, supporters of keeping the port industrial, also allegedly received donations from American Stevedoring International.
