The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York – the corporation that undertakes real estate operations for Jehovah’s Witnesses – has opened for bidding for the former Hotel Bossert, the historic 14-story, 224-unit apartment building at 98 Montague Street. The Society purchased the building in 1988 and gave it an extensive renovation that cost “in the millions.” Although the Society always trades its properties through private transactions, one broker says she estimates the building will sell “in the $100 million range.” The Brooklyn Dodgers celebrated their first and last World Series championship at the hotel.
