Port Authority wants to head Moynihan Station project

Port Authority Chairman Anthony Coscia says his authority should take over the stalled Moynihan Station project should, which should be considered an expansion of the transportation network rather than an office building. Although Coscia did not specify what role the Port Authority would play, he said he thought that the station should be an independent project, as opposed to the city’s efforts to package Moynihan Station with a new Madison Square Garden and new office towers, which depends on whether Madison Square Garden is relocated. Coscia said the scaled-down plan would still spur economic development.
