Silverstein eyes Macklowe towers

Developer Larry Silverstein, after pulling his bid to buy Harry Macklowe’s General Motors Building, now reportedly has Macklowe’s seven former Equity Office towers in his sights. The portfolio includes the Credit Lyonnais Building at 1301 Sixth Avenue and 52nd Street, Tower 56 at 126 East 56th Street, 527 Madison Avenue,Park Avenue Tower, Worldwide Plaza, 1540 Broadway and 850 Third Avenue. Bids are due on April 30. Early last year, Macklowe used just $50 million of his own money for the $7 billion Equity Office Properties portfolio. He used the GM Building as collateral.
