Gov. David Paterson has forced out the executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Anthony Shorris, who oversaw the World Trade Center’s redevelopment. Paterson was apparently frustrated with delays at the WTC site. Shorris also reportedly did little to ingratiate himself with Paterson when he was serving as lieutenant governor. The Times has reported that former city Department of Environmental Protection commissioner Christopher Ward will get the job. Paterson is also looking for a new chairman of the Empire State Development Corporation.
