Copper stolen from Hamptons homes

The copper-stealing craze has hit the upscale homes of the Hamptons. Thieves stole $1,000 worth of fixtures from the Bridgehampton home of Isaac Mizrahi, the designer to the stars. The skyrocketing price of copper has spurred thefts of copper pieces around the East End, where plush homes are often left vacant for months. With copper futures selling for $4 per pound, compared to $.70 a decade ago, a big haul can easily be resold for $1,000.
