Stuy Town residents put on a square dance and dinner event over the weekend, with the help of Council Member Dan Garodnick, to benefit their campaign to landmark the complex. The event featured tenants of the ’40s–era housing complex in Western clothing. Residents say that they aren’t directly opposing Tishman Speyer, which paid a record $5.4 billion for the 110-building complex in 2006, but want to prevent new developments.
