Lawsuits filed against the city over the March crane collapse in Turtle Bay are seeking $190 million. The lawsuits claim the city failed to properly inspect and ensure the safety of the crane at the high-rise under construction at 303 East 51st Street. Christopher Canzona, brother of 45-year-old construction worker Clifford Canzona, who died while working on the crane, is suing for $30 million, claiming that the crane’s inspection was faked and workers were exposed to “unsafe conditions.” The collapse killed seven people, injured 24 and left more than 100 homeless.
