Merrill Lynch renews talks of WTC move

Merrill Lynch is in discussions again on moving its headquarters to a planned skyscraper at the World Trade Center. Merrill’s move to Tower 3, which will be 71 stories with 2.5 million square feet of office space, would be a major boost to a project that few major private-sector tenants have expressed interest. Merrill Lynch’s current lease at its Brookfield Properties’ World Financial Center expires in 2013. The Port Authority board plans to discuss the possible move next week, and could vote to allow developer Larry Silverstein to freeze construction so that a redesign could accommodate trading floors for Merrill Lynch
