Brooklyn rages over park delays

Residents of northern Brooklyn are upset that about 50 acres of new open space are nowhere to be found, three years after they were promised along with the rezoning of Greenpoint and Williamsburg. However, much of the 10,000 new apartments that were planned are in the works. Bushwick Inlet Park, which is planned to run 28 acres along the Greenpoint-Williamsburg border, only has a budget for half of its construction. It has yet to break ground and the city must still buy private land needed for the park.
