Extell buys property near Diamond Tower for $50M 

Extell Development has purchased a property at 30 West 47th Street for $50.1 million, according to city records posted today. The building is near Extell’s 40-story Diamond Tower, being built at 44 West 47th Street, with a second address at 55 West 46th Street. In February, Extell chief Gary Barnett denied rumors that his firm was buying nearby 20 and 30 West 47th Street to take over the block, telling the Post that Extell was just “assembling a lot of air rights.” The 10-story office building at 30 West 47th Street has 55,000 square feet, and is zoned for a maximum build-out of 90,000 square feet.
