With construction booming around the city, observers say there aren’t enough seasoned workers to go around. As demand for workers grows faster than supply, inexperienced workers are needed, increasing safety threats. If the current rate of injuries continues, this year’s number will surpass 150, up from 124 last year and 116 in 2006. Fifteen construction fatalities have already happened this year, compared to 12 in 2007 and 18 in 2006.
