Hotels invade Garment District

The Garment District will soon be filled with budget hotels. The McSam Hotel Group and Lam Group plan to open five hotels this fall, including a Sheraton Four Points and a Marriott Fairfield Inn, adding more than 1,000 hotel rooms to the area by next year. An average hotel rate of $250 per night is expected for the district, which runs roughly from 34th Street to 42nd Street between Fifth and Ninth avenues.
