The National Hockey League has threatened to toss the Dolan family, who own the Rangers and Madison Square Garden, from the league for accusing the NHL of violating antitrust laws. In court papers filed yesterday, the NHL said that Madison Square Garden, L.P.’s ownership of the Rangers could be suspended or terminated, meaning the Dolans could be forced to sell the team. MSG sued the NHL last year, claiming it monopolized team promotions. A judge later ruled in favor of the league. The Dolans, who also own the Knicks, have been winning few friends lately, since they refused to go along with the ambitious plan to transform their arena and Penn Station into Moynihan Station.
